J & J Construction did not start with capital. 

Growing up in a low-income  housing community, James faced challenges early in life and was impacted by incarceration at a young age.  For many, that becomes the end of the story.  For James, it was the beginning. 

James had a gift for working with his hands.  He had talent, vision, and determination but lacked access to the resources needed to build a business.  People Trust Community Loan Fund recognized the potential and with support through Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, provided the financing needed to help turn his skills into a growing construction business specializing in commercial and residential construction, remodels, additions, and more. 

Today, James is building more than structures.  He is creating ownership, opportunity, and investment in communites that have historically faced limited access to capital.
